Yeah there is that. I liked that in that Harry's Garage when he's discussing classic car options he references safety.
Petrol is the only thing I guess on these old German saloons. My mum had to look after an E34 for a bit when I was a kid. I thought it was awesome. My folks just complained about the mpg.
Definitely an element of that. It's not my first choice but it does seem more practical and useable than my normal choices of unloved French cars!
I'd happily drive the kids in a 1992 300e, not so much in a '91 205 Si... The other car I was looking at. Tin foil basically, but so lively and fun to drive.
