No idea. The engine is out of a noble is all I know. Seemed a very expensive way to go, but thought about is and it is actually a cheap way to upgrade the X type. Both engines are based on the ford 3.0v6 which ford bought from Porsche. Then cosworth developed the heads for ford and Jag as the heads are different.
The Jag has many integrated modules but the Jag ECU is different to the ford one and is modifyable. So can run the noble engine management. Yet keep abs, and all the other bits to keep the car legal.
Wonder if the engine is from a noble or one built by the South African company that built the engines for Noble. But niether is going to be cheap.
Am a member of several X type groups and saw this conversion.
The removal of the 4x4 trans was interesting to me.
Right hive people, if you had the engine out of a noble n70? Less than 100 Nobel's made. Engine based on Mondeo st220 V6, and yeah the xtype V6 made another 20bhp but in the noble 500bhp due to twin turbo no idea if one per bank would you fit said engine to a 4x4 xtype?
Then, as the 4x4 system was marginal at best with power from the original engine..would you remove the broken rear diff so no rear diff or drive shafts. Not sure that the rear subframe wasn't replaced by a Jag xtype rear/maybe Mondeo estate rear.
Then replace the gearbox with an diesel X type 5 speed box as the box is the strongest torque box and common to upgrade tuned focuses and Mondeo's etc?
Well would you?
No not me, some X type person I know recently purchased the car for the engine to go in to another soaceframed car.
