• Is there pipework on the wall you can see mould?

It looks like the silicone is pealing around the edges already so could could easily cause moisture to get through. Do you have photos of the silicone within the shower too?

I would defo be taking all that silicone off an redoing it anyway as its peeling quite a bit. It often peels if it has been spread to thin / to much pressure on it when smoothing out.

I would also leave that kick plate off for a bit to give it some air, give the mould a good spray of some mould remover too, if you have a dehumidifier pop that in there for a few days.

EDIT: The more I look at that picture the more I think I can see drips just underneath the front of the tray, it could be findings its way within the shower OR it might also be coming through the screen bar thing attached to the wall as there looks to be gaps (it should be fully sealed)

  • gone elsewhere for xmas (can't currently take pics) but don't think there are any pipes there.

the screen bar thing on the inside isn't sealed, but it is sealed on the outside. I think it might be getting in there on the inside and finding its way out. The drain seal in the shower tray is coming away a bit too

  • I would take all the silicone off and redo it, I can see a gap on the outside where the silicone won’t create a seal, unless it’s sealed behind the screen bar.
