I have one of those yetis. I have the cup/thermos cap and use it for tea at work.
It's honestly a shit thermos because it's not insulated properly around the top of the bottle, just below the threaded section. It's OK if it's inside but if it's outside in cold temps your hot drink will get cold pretty quickly.
Nicely made though. -

I still want a ti bicycle cage-sized watertight thingie with screw top so I could do cold soak/bircher in it while riding and/or cook with it. I know one exists but I think it 1. doesn't fit in bottle cages and 2. costs like £100
Vargo BOT it is:

earthwell roaster will go in any bottle cage

Can that be true, given that there's 3 different sizes?
"IPA's cold for 16 hours."
Where do I sign?

Do you actually need to carry hot water with it? If it's just for drinking water, any old stainless steel bottle from TK Maxx for less than a tenner will keep water cold for ages.

i have the mid sized one and it doesent interfere with anything, tallest one might not be half-frame bag friendly
-

Most of my bikes have full framebags so it'd likely be underneath the downtube if I got one and my partner's bikes are too small to do bottles and half-bag. I do like the idea of pre-soaking stuff during the day on the bike and then saving fuel when comes time to cooking. I'm not averse to eating slop every day, so long as it's hot slop :)

cold is my preference. I thought it people put hot ones on here too then the info is there for anyone.
I want a cool/nice one so don’t mind spending a bit. Say up to £40

Yeti are very much worth the money
-

Fair enough! I've lost so many over the years that I just don't bother spending more than I have to any more.

Second one of these, the first put in 3 years of daily service before being left behind at a hotel in Mexico last month :(

I had mine for 11 years, lost it last year. Replaced it with an insulated version and very happy with it although their sports cap still needs refining, they're on version 3 but it still leaks!
Also got a KK insulated coffee cup with the leak proof lid, very good but lives in the cupboard mostly. I use a large Yeti insulated cup/mug as my daily coffee receptacle, I make my coffee at 7am and it's still hot a couple of hours later, can't argue with that.

This is the one I lost. It was nice and battered and scratched. The only annoying thing was it didn’t fit in my cars cup holder.

I use wide mouth nalgene for everything these days except ‘proper’ bike rides. I don’t have the big nalgene cages but my daily bikes have baskets so always a way to carry them.
They do a little insulated jacket for them as well.
I’ve managed to dent/pierce stainless water bottles but all my Nalgenes are still going strong after years of abuse. -

These are good

These are ace, use one of these for hot chocolate on the mountains

I like that a lot. I’d prefer the a7 but it looks a bit ridiculous
-
• #21
Yeah the a6 is about the right size.

I use one of these. I make a coffee at 9pm to drink at work around 6am and it's still almost too hot to drink. Obviously fits in bottle cage. Comes with an insulated top without nozzle if you prefer using it like a flask

I've had the orange one for about 3 years. The other for about a year. As @RonAsheton said, the sports cap are not too great, still use it daily, but the screw tops are just foolproof. Sports cap can be leaky and harder to clean.
I'd get a painted one if I was you, as it has a bit more protection against dents/scratches.
I do put hot stuff in, but it's not good for that, too hot to touch, and have to wait for it to cool down.

Yeah I've been using one for years. They're just a bit small

I still really love the old Sigg 600ml aluminium bottles for water. Great classic look and comfy to drink from. They don’t last forever though, they either split when you drop them or the lining eventually starts corroding through 🙁
My beloved and battered water bottle went awol last night. Now how else am I supposed to carry, store and drink water.
This is a firm contender but spenny
