Then you’d be the same as every other bloke with a sports Rolex. Perpetual calendars sort the real nerds from the good-looking well-adjusted normal people.

I really dislike the random placement of all the 'date' windows, but that does sound impressive

Could my newly acquired Helson be a duff? It just never seems to show the correct time.
I wound it about 5o turns at 14:00 today and then set it to the correct time. 6 hours later it's running two minutes too fast. -

The Nardin is a true masterpiece IMHO, but the date window with the "0 and 8" not centred is a show stopper :-(

Was just about to say exactly this.. For as impressive as all that sounds, if you can't get those aligned then what's the point

Someone else here had similar issues. Leggy blonde possibly? I think it took ages to sort out

I have a 2 year old Seiko presage that gets a lot of use, literally worn every day, knocked about, scratched etc. For the last few months it's lost perhaps 2 mins a day overnight when it's not on the wrist. Is it just due a service?

The thickness gives me the ickness
-
• #75587
I think it’s 11.6mm with around 2mm being the crystal. That’s not thick at all in my book. Next reason please…

Definitely one of their better models for me but I'm not a major fan of blued hands, well depends on the watch, can get onboard with Cartier.
So I'd personally go for the SBGW231G instead. Out of interest is there a big difference between the two?? Both similar case sizes from what I remember.
Whenever I see them dual signed, it makes me think, (in James Bond voice) it's Seiko, Grand Seiko.

Just read that it's losing 2m overnight... is it by a phone charger ?
Maybe it's become magnetized ?
It may simply need regulating, rather than a full service.
Find someone with a Timegrapher, to check the amplitude and beat variation. -

It feels like it's raining Sea Urchins where I am; 1 awaiting parts and its sympathetic update/ mod is complete, 2 running slow for adjustment and this nicely worn one, bought for a song, running beautifully

To be honest it's my first expensive (for me) watch, and I'm not sure how accurate it's meant to be - but it is often left next to a phone charger or on a clock radio, I'm really not very careful with it at all!
I can drop it off to a watch service place after Xmas I guess and that should sort it. -

My Helson lost about 20 minutes over night then stopped working! They think it might have been magnetised in the shipping process and so I'm sending it back for them to sort.
Got me thinking whether non-ferrous watches are more likely to become magnetised
How did the complaint and repair process work out for you @leggy_blonde? Did you have to pay for shipping yourself?
The Helson I got two months ago is wildly inaccurate. It's currently running 8 min too fast, and it has been less than 20 hours since I wound and set it.

I actually quite like it! From what I read it’s super “soft” on the inside and wears beautifully.
@Retro_Bastard yeah, that’s cool too. I do like the cream dial though (especially with the blues seconds hand against it), not sure why.Edit: the large crown looks fantastic on these too!

Looks great. Good luck with future plans.
You could buy a used sports Rolex for that.
