  • Could anyone point me towards a link for individual coat "hooks" in the style of the vitra hang it all/atomic coat rack. Just want to mount the balls on some plywood to produce a cheap version but struggling with google keywords.

    Hang it all multicoloured_web_sub_hero

  • Dunellm for cheap and then cut them off.

  • where do i buy a 6ft christmas tree in SE london?

  • There's a christmas tree place on the south side of Crystal Palace Park if that's any good. Right next to the car park on Thicket Road.

  • There’s a tree market in Brockwell park.

  • Whereabouts in SE London?

B&Q at Lower Sydenham had them a week or so ago. There's a friend of mine selling them from his front garden on Kings Hall Road in Beckenham for super cheap (like half the price of anywhere else I've seen).

  • Where did he get them from?!

  • He runs a landscaping business, so presumably has contacts in the trade.

  • oh wow. thanks everyone!! so i passed a bnq that had five footers cheap so i bought one as backup but may get sent out again- anyone else still totally overwhelmed with work and life and not in any frame of mind to get tangled up in these kinds of errands?! the person at bnq remarked that i’d left it late, is it late?!

    • Fence post, trimmed
    • 2no. “L” brackets
    • A dozen screws
    • A handful of rawl plugs

Unless I’m massively misreading the question!

  • What should I fill a parts washer with

Check for compatibility, some parts washers like aliphatic solvents (e.g. Hydrosol P180), some like aqueous based liquid, e.g. Simple Green

  • You’re a gent, thank you.

  • Kent House Coffee, next to Kent House station has 6 foot trees outside. I noticed as I picked my youngest up after school.

I don't think it's too late. Your tree won't be shedding needles next week, unlike ours, which was put up on the 3rd of December.

  • which was put up on the 3rd of December.

I'm annoyed we put one up at the weekend.

  • Also, fuck buying another one because it's a foot smaller, stick the dying cunt on a foot high pedestal, much like what should've happened with Henry Kissinger.

  • Thanks for answering - very kind. Yeah, maybe I'm overthinking the issue. I was thinking I'd screw in countersunk screws to the wood, straight through into the brick. But those would need to be crazy long screws, so I think L brackets are going to work better. Potentially I could hide some of the L bracket under the wood itself ...

  • You could.

“L” brackets mounted inwards, then attach the post. So the bracket touching the brickwork is hidden by the post.

I’m off up north for Christmas, this afternoon (all being well with trains), and my mum n dad have a list of similar DIY tasks to keep me busy. :D

  • Haha, you poor thing! Good luck with the trains. It's madness here this morning in Derbyshire - loads of trees down on the roads this morning. I got kiddo to nursery fine, but really struggled coming back. 3 of 4 potential routes back were completely blocked.

  • Do water flossers actually work, any better/worse than proper flossing?

  • I find water flossers a lot easier to use so actually do it which probably makes it better.

  • I stopped using mine.It was next to useless for getting rid of the plaque build up between teeth.
My dental hygienist doesn't rate them .

  • They are not for removing plaque but to remove stuck food that will cause plaque. My dental hygienist rates them highly.

  • Well balanced reviews FTW ;-)
