  • I checked with my wife and she is sure mine did this when it was new as well. It doesn't any more after 6-9 month of use. I'm sure an engineer could probably explain that, as a non expert I'm assuming it's due to the metal expanding and contracting under heating.

    I looked at Amazon reviews and there are a handful that mention the lid being a bit loose and rattly - 7 of 608 reviews, plus our 2 are experiences. Perhaps that is within their QA tolerances and we all got duds, or perhaps they're just designed that way for reasons.

    Overall I'm really happy with mine for the price. If I were to lose it tomorrow I'd buy another without thinking about it. It's works better than others I have used that cost several times the price.

    Couldn't be arsed to send it back with so much nonsense to sort out before the holidays. Started using it when I got back from Christmas family fun and it works great.

    Lid rattles a tiny bit when it hits boiling point but it doesn't rattle at all whilst I'm pouring so it's turned out to be a none issue. Cheers.
