Jeans & Sheux - a bit?
-
• #9278
Na, jeans and proper leather shoes can for sure still work. Jeans and Sheux are a very specific vibe.

Aye. Piss Catchers is a whole thing

Is there such thing as a casual brogue?
Most brogues tend to be more casual. As Mr Smyth said anything without leather soles will look more so.
I think polished would look a bit odd - maybe burnished toe caps and heals.

I’ve got beef with burnished toe caps. Just the same colour all over for me.

It through me a bit genuine first thought was your after some made to look like proper leather like m&s or next.. but to the repetition these go a long way https://uk.nps-solovair.com/collections/mens?countrycode=GB&pf_mlt_style=Derby-Brogue-Boot&pf_mlt_style=Brogue-Shoe

Trickers have totally lost it with their pricing
-

Holy shit no kidding. Yuketen have also. You’re closer to a grand USD than you are $4-500 that they used to cost on almost all of their shoes. I get that they’re artisan spec shoes but my god.
With that said - at least they both make great shoes…

Could go for a semi brogue derby or a plan derby in lighter brown which is a lot more casual than a full noisy brogue imo.

I do want there to be a Mr men character who wears brogues like that.. I dug out my Clarks desert welt brown boots today and also found a pair in blue suede , because, pandemic - went a bit mental £100 kinda thing

These are nice. They’re also on the right side of £200.
I fully appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into trickers, grenson on etc etc. but who in their right mind is dropping £400 on one pair of shoes??
I’m just poor.

Cheaper than a pair of Gucci loafers

That leather looks so soft

They last though. And they’re nice. Not Grenson though. The majority of their shoes are made offshore now.
The Tricker’s outlet is good. And brands like Berwick 1707 have nice but affordable stuff.

Idk what their quality is like now, but I've generally bought Loake as they're about the right price point for me.

Bought 1 pair from the outlet store, 1 in the sale at Bureau Belfast and one from Jermyn St store over 10 years ago. They were £180-£280.
Better value than £500-£600 worth of plastic sweatshop trainers and cheap unrepairable shoes that would be landfill by now. -

Some lovely shoes here.

These enter the slipper game

May I ask where it is?
At those prices the stock will be sitting for a long time...
