It's not just about tread but puncture resistance. Loose a lot of time fixing puncture!! Not to mention just a annoying.

If they like the wets but want less tread then drys are that, but may well be not enough tread with mud around. I've not had a puncture with the drys in well over a year of shitty Manchester commuting and occasional actual rides, I think they're pretty tough tyres.
