I like this! I’ve had a play to encase the concrete base with a black I beam, run it to the garage door and over the top. Plant the trough with sedums to replicate the porch? Have you thought about side opening garage doors, but with a 1/3-2/3 split to copy the windows? You could also inset the opening by 300mm or so to loose the flatness of the front and again replicate the porch, but in relief.
I like playing with your design, because I can’t come up with anything for a storm porch for our place.

Interesting! I had a local steel work / welder chap come around to come up with a design / quote for the porch today. He mentioned a black border on the concrete slab too…
