I would say the chances of explosion are very low. There are a quite a few workshops across the UK who would be able to fix that for not much money though. Would definitely be worth pinging an email to a few of them to get quotes, I think it'll be less than you would expect.
Keep riding in the meantime, just keep an eye on the crack, maybe draw a line on the wheel where the crack ends now so you can easily keep track if it grows.
