• So, almost 4 months of Owen. It's been great, but far from simple. We were totally prepared for the puppy stage being hard work but it's been even tougher than anticipated. Absolutely thrilled we seem to have turned a corner on the mouthing/biting situation, it was getting really boring. I think some combination of teething lessening and his emotional maturity progressing, but it's now becoming uncommon and something he will respond to instructions to stop, whereas for a while it was every evening between 6-8pm and at random other times of high-juice during the day. We're really working on his training - we did a puppy school which was good for socialistion, a general introduction to training principles and reassurance that everyone else was struggling too, but not much beyond that. Since that we've been doing this monthly thing with a trainer I really respect; each month we get one hour in person, 3 hours on zoom and constant support/updates via whatsapp, in which we upload videos of various training exercises we've been set which he'll analyse and make suggestions to improve and generally provides support. It's really worked well for us, and generally he's just a great guy, would recommend to anyone.

The joy of having the soft bastard around the house is impossible to express, seeing him play off lead (and offer every passing dog/person/pigeon his belly - he is the ultimate beta dog) and generally enrich our lives is more than we could have hoped for.
