  • Well the St Bernadus brewery is on the bucket list.

  • Went a few years ago before doing a mini Ronde van Vlaanderen. Really impressive place. Views from the top over the hop bines are amazing. Bar is properly snazzy and the shop is super well stocked. Managed to score a St Bernardus cycling top too. Highly recommended.

  • That monk always knows where the party is at. One of my favourite beers and now I must visit.

  • Perhaps a little lowbrow for here, but I am loving the Jubel peach and (seperate flavour) grapefruit beers

Had a few cans of each over the weekend and enjoyed them.
Peach is a little sweet and the grapefruit a little sharp.

    Only 4% so easy drinking.

  • Not a big fan myself but my wife bloody loves them, especially the peach one as it's like boozy ice tea. Like you said easy drinking, especially in the summer.

I'd noticed it on draught more and more before I left blighty.

  • Ladies Love Cool Jubel; my wife always has one in the fridge and they are very refreshing

  • +1 for Jubel. Particularly the peach one. Nice easy drinking.

  • Knee deep in my advent calendar, couple of choice ones (I’m still traumatised by that haircut)

  • I can’t drink atm because of the bad antibiotics. The other day I had a really good 0.0% (can’t remember which) and thought wow, if you’re not allowed booze these are actually good! Then tonight I tried a Lucky Saint and poured it down the fucking sink

  • Hitting the spot alongside carols in the pub right now. Festively delicious

  • That looks smashing

Also, dark lager sounds like some cool nerd D&D drink. Level 16 dark lager, chaotic good.

  • Oof, really making me wish I was in a good boozer right now rather than stuck at home solo dadding.

  • Brewed by the Underdark's finest Trappist Drow, no doubt

  • This is mega find, hope it was good.

  • Garage, Doskiwis, Soma, Basqueland, La Pirata, Maresme.

  • I thought I'd bought all of Weird Beard's Sadako stock :D

  • Agree. I rode a 24hr MTB thing over in Gits and on the way back we had time so we went to Brugge and then just hit breweries (inc Westvleteren) on the way back before the ferry.

  • See, Garage are great at what they do. It's just I don't really like what they do. Had a few pints with the head brewer when I was over there last year and confessed as much. He took it well.

  • That's fair. If you like lambiks and saisons you're not going to suddenly be raving about hazy DIPAs.

  • A friend has turned up for a week of cycling bearing this barrel aged eggnog stout bad boy - at 15% it’s not going to end well

Tasting update - sweet baby Jesus

  • And what in the name of all that is holy are “dank hops”

  • Smelly or pungent aroma, often piney earthy notes.

  • As if the horrors of last night were insufficient, just been presented with these….

  • Are these all from the same friend?

By the looks of things, not much riding is going to get done.
