I've been very tempted by one of his CX frames for a few years.........

This just looks like any mgoof build imo.
What are you getting exactly @Jingle_Jangle ? -

That Whitcomb looks soooo much like my Woodrup with the seat stay cluster named after a track rider.

That's lovely, maybe I'll look out for one of those...

Not gone into too much detail yet. In fact, haven't had 100% confirmation that I've got a build slot.
However, I'm hoping to have a frame built in the 'classic' fashion - skinny tubes, 1" threaded steerer, downtube shifter bosses - that sort of thing.

Are we doing suggestions yet? I have a suggestion based on this spec.

Happy to take suggestions on board.

Why the threaded headset? Is it for the quill stem aesthetic? I can see that, but adjustment and durability wise isn't at least threadless an improvement? Or is it in service of maintaining skinny tubes look?
-
• #38
to make sure the front end is as flexy as the rear
-
• #39
I don't think Sachs uses threaded headsets/steerers anymore

It's because I'll be using an '80's groupset.

That's going lovely! What 80's parts are you planning?

42 posts and not even sure a space has been secured- going to be a looonnnng thread

Okay!
Out of curiosity; why do you prefer this over some nice old frame with similar specs? -
• #45
Give me your money now!...... If you're very lucky and join my cult you may or may not get a bike in several years.
P.S. Fuck you.
Sincerely,

I lap up all of Sachs’s bullshit. Kudos.
Peter Weigle built a nice one when he was there…
