Blue Lug. I ordered a few things and the shipping and import wasn't too bad.

Blue Lug.
Baller.
Great, great looking bike. It's you though. Probably would have assumed it was you even if you posted under an alias. Welcome back.

Moneys well spent. And indeed the most baller surly on the globe.
The colour chart on the spec list is really crazy though. Brave man to out himself like this.

I do get the attention to detail with the black silver mix.
I recently added a silver spacer to my non surly so only bad detail shots because the silver CK crown race had no upper pendant.
The black seat post bolt is bothering me though.

Amazing :-D
Why the spacer?

I adore the attention to detail here!

everything that connects to the frame is silver.
Everything? 6/10, must do better.
(Nah, that's lovely, great job.)

There’s a silver washer!

Very bad pictures are very bad.
The crown race is silver, so silver connects to black headset on the bottom. Then on top, silver HAS to connect to headset.
But making colour charts, wow, very detail, much attention. -

Well, new Bridge Clubs in 'whipped butter' are seemingly available at most Surly dealers now. £630 from Spa was the best price I've found, so I've pulled the trigger. Colour is only average I think, hopefully will a little less dull when built up.
Will be the polar opposite to the blinged up one above!

I'll allow it

Just taken delivery of this - excited to start building up after Christmas.
Props to Spa for selling me a decent headset for £20, installing it for free and turning it around quickly despite the Christmas rush
Going to start with borrowing an old SP dynamo wheelset and Deore 10 speed bits from other bikes, with 27.5 x 2.25 G One All Arounds.
Mollymawk bars for a super swept back /upright position to clear the steerer mounted child seat.
Need to work out whether there will be enough clearance between said child's feet to fit a front rack and basket.
Then mega big mudguards to clear the tyres - I usually like velo orange or GB - thinking maybe Bluemels for this though is more in keeping with the budget/utility vibes

Possibly a dropper - would need to be 27.2 externally routed, which do exist but not a lot of options - and even (shudder) a kickstand? It has a mounting plate for one by the dropouts.
Primarily for ease of kid loading and mounting rather than shredding trails or going on a mega tour (although hopefully it will do a bit of those sorts of things at some point in the future)

Sounds like a really solid build plan. Don't forget the mudflaps though! Bluemels are notoriously short

Sounds like a rad dad bike. Super cool.

Nice! Keep us updated:)

Kickstands are great, especially if you’ve got kid hauling duties. Just lean in to being old and uncool.
Yep, that too. I'm pretty happy with where I got to. I didn't want to go all black stuff because I find it a bit boring, and all silver is a bit too classic. I definitely went round the houses, here's a small sample of things I tried:
