very interesting to hear about the ease of japanese imports. how do you even go about finding the listing? what is their version of autotrader? is there any warranty if its a lemon or do you just wing it?

No warranty so on your head be it!
For anyone considering it, I really can't recommend Torque GT highly enough, they were superb throughout, transparent with their cut of the price (about £1k in my case) and they will do as much as possible to mitigate the chance of you ending up with a dud.
