I think it's one of those aspects of two wheels that people don't recognize till shit hits the fan properly.
Rains down here couple week back; greased up cold tarmac. Like you, off camber, gentle downhill and Uber rider fucking pins his scooter. He goes straight into the bush on the other side; bike is mildly fucked, he's ok, I stop, ask if he's ok, all good; we talk, he says he has no idea what happened, I infer he was going too fast for the corner, he says no way (he was), he calms down after a while and I ask if he's crashed before. He says no.Think it's one of those things were experience tempers the wrist.
In other bullshit, the fucking fuel cap is completely seized and is now going to 'pain in the ass' territory.

Sorry to hear the project has become a project...!
You're right though. It takes experience to truly learn, and even then some people aren't capable of reflecting long enough to benefit.
In other news I ignored the sinus issues long enough to manage about 20 mins on the trials bike this morning and my hands ache like day one. All the illness and injury this year put paid to cycling and trials riding, and I can see my general and bike fitness will take some time to return. Frustrating.
Been in the van more than the bike lately, but the near-misses and fuckwittery I've seen has been astounding.
This morning on the way home from the better half's I actually had to shout to myself in the van because of the squid moron I witnessed...
Going 30 in the van down a hill that's a bit of a twisy lane, had a squid overtake me. Now, you can do 50 up it on the bike but only 30 going down. The camber is all wrong and it's greasy as hell.
I had an eye on my wingmirrors, but he literally overtook out of nowhere. Looking at the rear cam footage later he was leapfrogging cars on the bends of the hill. Overtook me before I'd straightened up after the road levels off.
Then he pins it to overtake the Luton ahead (another reason I'm going barely 30).
Of course I can see the oncoming car, he can't.
He slams on his rear break, back goes wibble wobble as he rams his left leg out to balance, and narrowly avoids the bonnet of the oncoming (again this was on a bend)... then just completes the overtake like it was nothing.
Number plate was covered by a bag of Golden Virginia, and mentioning it to a mate they're thinking maybe the bike's stolen. I'm thinking probably just a dick.
