  • This is my Dolan TC1, set up for a Medium Gear “Athletes 10” attempt. I recorded 25:54 in the Maidenhead C.C. event on H10/10 17th August this year. One of my aims for next season is an attempt on either H10/1 or H10/8. The wheels are Gel280 rims, the front one is as it was purchased in 1987 with a Record L/F hub, I had the rear re-built using a BLB hub. I’ve purchased Bontrager bars/stem to be fitted for next season. I can’t wait to have a go.

  • Fiaahhhh

  • I think the OS tubing on that would suit a straight fork

  • Latest iteration

  • Very smart. What bars are they?

  • Deda RHM 01

  • looking for a 56/57 track frameset
    alloy most likely
    anybody with something nice ?

  • Very nice!

  • One brake and no road levers >>>>>

  • Fiddle sticks.

My hoorendo 3D printed cable stop is slipping and cracking.

What is the consensus on me drilling the top tube to screw a boss on as I can't be arsed with brazing / soldering / welding.

Not like my 20 year old Mash frame is worth anythong?

  • Is it worth more or less than a new set of teeth?

  • (disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm talking about but that sounds like something more knowledgeable than me would say )

  • Would only be a 4mm hole.

My ancient Vitus has larger cable holes in the alloy top tube.

    Still going.

  • What is the consensus on me drilling the top tube to screw a boss on

I think rivet rather than screw, you can get the part off of aliex

  • Yes. I saw similar. Oh wait...

    *rivet gun required :(

    Only a tenner :)

  • Well...

Drilled the frame with 3mm hole. (Scarily thin tubing. :0$) The paint was already falling off with age anyway.

Used a BMX gyro cable stop in the end as only one Rivet required.

  • Took it out today for a test on the windy Surrey hills... Didn't snap in half. Yet. :o

  • Scarily thin tubing.

That's why a screw was never going to work. Even stout aluminium top tubes are only about 1 thread pitch thick

  • Peak winter patina earned on the Mulo today

  • Deployed the road fixed for a 80k ride yesterday. It's crazy to see how big of a difference newer shimano levers do the ergonomics of the bike. Way way better than any alternative I've tried, including trp and cane creek.

Now the search for a couple of broken di2 levers is officially started.

Also, don't bother with the ungodly bad tape wrap and lunchbox on the handlebars, I've borrowed the last one from a friend to try and promptly removed it after the ride

  • Great photo, Where are you? I doubt you're in the UK especially not this last weekend!

  • I rode the cycleway from Imperia to Ospedaletti, on the Ligurian Coast in Italy! Quite busy on the weekends, but a great infrastructure for some easy miles!

  • It makes me happy to see a real 'road fixed' in there.
    Lovely scenery!
