This looks absolutely brilliant although my hands are starting to ache just from the photo...

It's not obvious from this photo but speaks volumes about me. I had placed this half full tank on a workmate then a while later I started to slide the workmate a couple of inches. The tank fell off away from me spun vertically 180 degrees and landed square on the filler cap. I was very upset.
Anyway Motorcycle Dent Removal of Pickering are the absolute dogs danglers.
They don't do paint repair but the dent is no more and the body shop I used to work at will do me a freebie.

Had a Portuguese guy cooing over my DR350 so bad he even asked if he could have a photo next to it. He had a kicker back in the day and always regretted selling it, even though he's on KTM's now.
My mechanic tried to sell me his DRZ400 recently, but there's not enough benefit over the DR350 with the bigger bore in it. There are a load of benefits, just not enough. By the time I spend his asking price I'm 2/3 the way to something actually enduro.

we got one of these a month or so ago after the car battery died out of the blue - neither fancy nor pretty, but sorted us out right away:

Need to make friendly with locals so they’ll sell us summat cheap out there.
I made another mistake. It was too cheap. I couldn’t resist.

Don't think that'll be a mistake - looks good.

It’s not moved in about 3 years, so a fair bit of work to do. Wouldn’t have bought it otherwise.
9k on the clocks and Honda quality is as they say. I can see rust on exactly one bolt. A LOT of moss to clean off though. -

Rad. You've got something growing in your headlight though 😁

Been in the van more than the bike lately, but the near-misses and fuckwittery I've seen has been astounding.
This morning on the way home from the better half's I actually had to shout to myself in the van because of the squid moron I witnessed...
Going 30 in the van down a hill that's a bit of a twisy lane, had a squid overtake me. Now, you can do 50 up it on the bike but only 30 going down. The camber is all wrong and it's greasy as hell.
I had an eye on my wingmirrors, but he literally overtook out of nowhere. Looking at the rear cam footage later he was leapfrogging cars on the bends of the hill. Overtook me before I'd straightened up after the road levels off.
Then he pins it to overtake the Luton ahead (another reason I'm going barely 30).
Of course I can see the oncoming car, he can't.
He slams on his rear break, back goes wibble wobble as he rams his left leg out to balance, and narrowly avoids the bonnet of the oncoming (again this was on a bend)... then just completes the overtake like it was nothing.
Number plate was covered by a bag of Golden Virginia, and mentioning it to a mate they're thinking maybe the bike's stolen. I'm thinking probably just a dick.

Oh, still very tempted to sell the CBR600F3 if in the new year anyone wanted a proper reliable fast bike. I've been loving it, but I think my long rides are happening less and less now.

I think it's one of those aspects of two wheels that people don't recognize till shit hits the fan properly.
Rains down here couple week back; greased up cold tarmac. Like you, off camber, gentle downhill and Uber rider fucking pins his scooter. He goes straight into the bush on the other side; bike is mildly fucked, he's ok, I stop, ask if he's ok, all good; we talk, he says he has no idea what happened, I infer he was going too fast for the corner, he says no way (he was), he calms down after a while and I ask if he's crashed before. He says no.Think it's one of those things were experience tempers the wrist.
In other bullshit, the fucking fuel cap is completely seized and is now going to 'pain in the ass' territory.

Is it the lock that's seized?
-
• #24672
You still in north London?
Rub key with a pencil time and time again or get lock lube.

N + 1 is goooooood. Nicely done.

Press on the lid, place the carbon lock lube in to the lock and to the sides of the barrel. Then wiggle the barrel with the key.
Usually the barrel material sticks/corrodes to the tap flap material.
Worst comes to the worst, get a second hand one and alter the barrel to the key.
Old one will secome to the screwdriver.
Had a little go on a fully restored 1967 Triumph Bonneville yesterday eve and am rather smitten. Aside from the brakes (which work fine, just lack feel) and a not unpleasant thrum, it felt nimble and fun. Shift, clutch and engine were excellent and it sounded fab.
Still wouldn't have one, but I can see why people like them.
