  • Actually, if that seat has a groove down the middle, I think I have one already. $20, not a comfortable shape.

  • ...bikes that are roughly 10 years or older and personalized in a way that sets them apart from your average period correct build.

I know I've pimped this bike in one or two other threads, but given the spiel in the OP, I couldn't resist.

'06 TCR Advanced LE, 9000 except BR-7400 on the back and ST-9170s. The Caden tubs weigh 1080g and the whole bike is 6.14kg. Gutted A-junction lives in the stem, hooked up to everything via pillaged USB wire. Remote mode button at the back of the right hood under the tape.

  • That Giant is so nice

  • Lovely… modifications make it better for me 👌🏻

  • I will sell my youngtimer Giant TCR soon, post #44

  • that giant frame just looks lightweight, without even picking it up or knowing anything about it
really nice build to boot, very nice

  • Nice youngtimer, truly looked down upon by the buyer crowd.
Ii would look great alongside my omnium. it a M ? What is the bb standard ?

  • M/L which I think at the time was something like a 53.5cm seat tube
    BB86
You have the matching Omnium? I've wanted one for years

  • I have it yes, they are not hard to find but i found matching tcr road spare fork to run a front brake on it.
It is dismantled as i dont have wheels for it atm (nor space for a spare fixed build)

  • I think my '06 was probably the last TCR with English BB & 9/8 steerer... Maybe there was one more generation after that before they messed with it a bit much... Non-ISP had the round 27.2 post, probably the best riding, most compatible and hassle-free TCR (not to mention the prettiest IMO), but it's getting hard to find one in good nick

  • this old btwin frame was for sale here as a complete with a full sram groupset and literally nothing else that was useable and with a stuck bb. a similar frame is for sale by @PhilDAS They were used for the french junior national team and, though they look weird and have an annoying seat tube turret they ride great. all my road bikes have been this era: from my 08 5900sl trek to my Deda nerrissimo (sp?), which @JanWillem built, much nicer than I could. all have had threaded bbs and very little clearance. The chain stays on this though are considerably longer and there’s easily room for a 28. Nor do I get toe overlap with my size 13 dawgs. i haven’t cut the steerer and my stem is at the top because with the move to Sram I got the worst hand pains. Terrible design! I was luck to get thomson bar stem and chopped dher’s masterpiece seatpost cheap so everything is there is matching but the wheels are a total mishmash of parts found cheap. Thanks as always to Arup for the build on them.

  • Nice btwin rehabilitation project !
I think i have spare black hoods from sram singlespeed levers if you need

  • thanks, yes please! I desperately searched for some new hoodz to ease the hand pain and could only get hold of white without ordering from OS or breaking the bank. I’d take the sram hoods too though because A I have no sram spares (after migrating from shimano) and i thought I better start looking out for deals before everything got crazy expensive and B were I to ever sell these on they might be smarter and more desirable than the used white ones

  • Bianchi 928 C2C bought from here years ago
Built originally with 105 10 spd, then converted to single speed, Ultegra brakes and cranks and calipers. Tektro levers
    H Plus Son Archetypes

    bianchi

  • Never seen this frame before, very unique and lovely frame, superb build!

  • thanks!
