Looking good! Did you spend as much time as I did worrying about whether to line the tyre logo up with the rim logo or the valve hole with those wheels?
-
• #32
this is looking fantastic! I take it you'll be fitting guards n flaps etc. for full functional fun times?
-

I spent most of my time trying to get the tyres on / off without breaking my thumbs 👍 i tried to line up with the valve hole and failed but now you’ve got me thinking…

Thanks ☺️ not sure if there’d be much clearance left - any suggestions for guards / flaps ?

Oh really? My tyres went on really easily, barely needed the tyre levers. Getting the same tyres on another set of rims was a nightmare!

Nice project and nice to see that also some of these older not thru axle frames had proper clearances. In terms of mudguards I’d go either 55mm Pelago or 60mm Gilles Berthoud. GB is flatter and does not require that much vertical clearance, at least mine measured 66-67mm externally and clears easily 55mm tire. 50mm GB and 55m Pelago have round profile and don’t clear as much, 38-40 and 45-47mm.

Cheers, slowly coming together

It's not April 1st is it?
-
• #45
Nah but red bar tape is going to be used initially (just because I have it already)

Just ordered some ultegra ice disc rotors

found my way here while dreaming of the brodie - excellent work. people are sleeping on the kirk barrel adjusters, i have similar from paragon and they elevate the build more than one would think.
deserves more king and a nicer seatpost

Brodie frame and forks available still £140 cash👌!
Just changed the headset to my king pretty and strong pale pink and missed out on a sim works seat post in the classifieds 🥲. I love sim works stuff but a stem costs the same as the Brodie! -

cool. love those pierced top tube Saracens. I built one a few years back. there's a build thread on here somewhere. nowt special though, just parts bin stuff.
Cheers for the recommendations - just ordered some attaquers and schwalbe g-one 700 x 45c
