  • Just started chainsaw man. Good so far v bloody

  • I decided to give Castlevania a go. Not as disappointed as I expected to be for a Netflix anime.

  • is pretty cool for sure!

you also have a WITCHER animation on netflix that is also nice!

you saw Cyberpunk: Edgerunners i am sure....? recommended!!!

Shigurui: Death Frenzy .... this one... WOW!

  • I'm half way through Monster on Netflix.
Unless it gets much worse, I'd recommend it.

  • Also just noticed Hajime no Ippo, Netflix are upping their game I guess

  • Thought the 30 episodes of Monster was it. Turns out there are more like seventy something (why does Nexflix do this?!)

So NOW I'm half way through and its still good.

  • Cyberpunk, not anime, cheesy and just a bit basic, but I'm kinda enjoying it.

BUT! If you like the visual aspect (colours, movement) then I highly recommend the short movie Dead Leaves.

  • I haven't watched it but the animation in Trigun Stampede look awful. Like, really bad.

  • Thought Suzume was pretty good, although I still prefer Your Name

  • Spirited Away theatre show coming to London next year, currently at Toho Theatre in Tokyo:

    Straight into my veins, please.

  • started watching death frenzy (Shigurui) really liking it, well worth a watch also got back in to attack on titan as i never got past the 2nd series.

BBC Proms doing Totoro (on BBC2 as I type this)

  • Forgot about this thread - saw the Boy and the Heron at the London Film Festival - Festival Hall makes quite the cinema. Not a bad addition to the Ghibli pantheon, although there was a lot going on and it'll probably benefit from a second watch.

  • Found some old DVDs in my stuff. Tank Police, Appleseed and this

  • All classics.

I was thinking about Roujin Z again yesterday.

  • Film4 showing Your Name and Weathering With You this week (14 & 15 Dec), by the same director as Suzume

  • I mentioned Monster on Netflix a while back, seems like they have all of the episodes uploaded now. Recommended

  • Might cue that one up next.

Thoroughly enjoyed Blue Eye Samurai, looking forward to season 2.

It's a one season run of seventy something episodes. I don't know how to describe it but I guess it's a sort of thriller.

I struggle to call anything with that animation style an 'Anime' but I realise that Netflix have really muddied the waters. Also, I can't judge it on that because Cyberpunk was great.
Once I'm done with the latest season of Baki (how did I miss that!) I'll give this a shot

  • Going through probably the most stressful time of my life (big job responsibility, house move, country change, personal things all at the same time...)
I never watched any anime before but youtube randomly recommended me a clip of Azumanga Daioh and next thing I know I had watched 4 episodes.
I've finished the whole thing now and it's very wholesome, I smiled throughout it and even felt a bit emotional at times! Who knew that an old anime for 12 year old girls would be the thing to bring me some relief at this time

  • Azumanga is a stone cold classic. The OP lives rent free in my head.

If you liked that, see if you can find Atashinchi or Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu.
