Tell him to get the plastic versions of Haws watering cans, just as good as the metal version because they’ve got the same sprinkler head thingy

Belated happy Friday from the continent. @Manson7am that clock is ACE!
@Regal I love the look of the Aquastar, but think it’s a real shame that the minute hand chrono of the original isn’t included as without it, it’s just a nice looking thick watch.
@ejay2.0 keep the GS faith. If you build it, they will come. Do you accept watches in part-exchange?

Morning all, and happy weekend!
I would like to sell these two beauties, they belonged to my grandfather. They are still on their original straps, I just don't wear them so they should go somewhere they'd be used and enjoyed :)
Frankly, I don't know much about selling watches, and ironically, feel rather time-poor at present so would like to try selling to good forum folk at forum friendly prices, if there's interest.
I'm happy to take pricing advice, and have only a vague sense of what each of these are worth. In fact, I'd really appreciate any input as to the value of these. Looks like the Longines go for £500-800 while the Eterna, being rarer, goes anywhere between £500-1100 - although I could very well be mistaken on either.
The Longines Calatrava is 9 carat gold, hallmarked, while the Eterna Matic is I believe 18 carat (although it might be 'gold capped' - and I'm not sure what that actually means,) but I honestly do not know
Happy to take more pics/measurements if interested, and viewings are very welcome (London E1) There are some shallow scratches, to both sapphire and case, which I'll photograph if there's any interest. The former look quite 'light' so perhaps will buff out with poly watch or the like, but I'm no expert.
Many thanks!

Actually leaving the house today so thought I'd best put a real watch on - feels so weird after wearing the big plastic lump of a Garmin for weeks!

That Longines is sweet.
Gents (and ladies?), is anyone interested in a beautiful 70s Chrono? Incredible condition, all original as far as I know, serviced in the last two years, comes with original box, bracelet (one of the end links is missing though) and a piece of old newspaper featuring that watch. As cool as it is, I’m not feeling it for some reason.

Would you says the same to buy a Casio watch as it does the same we the more expensive watch?

That would grate on my CDO.
None of the screw slots are aligned or parallel to each other.......

Plastic G Shock > metal G shock.
Don’t think watering cans and watches are really comparable tho.
However, there is the cool story (bro) with the uber-rare stainless steel cased Lange and Sohne watches that a few people have. L&S only make watches in precious metals - gold/rose gold/platinum etc but they made a small number in stainless as loaners for customers to use whilst their own watch was being serviced.
A few crafty buggers realised that these non-production models actually had a higher street value than their precious metal variants so kept the stainless instead! -

The slots never align on Santos' as far as I know.

That's not how screws work. Once you accept that, all slots into place

Doesn't the royal oak use slotted nuts to give a similar effect but with slots in a given orientation, for those as need the order.

But they’re really hard to undo without the correct screwdriver, learn from my mistake people…

I thought they were tightened from behind? Not actually sure.
@inchpincher or maybe not. Not sure I'd be willing to even try on a RO... What possessed you?!

My point being, a lots of people on here happily spending several thousands on a wristwatch, but balk when their partner asked for an expensive watering can is a little bit weird.

Have I been using a watering can wrongly all these years? Is the head meant to point upwards as in the previous pic?
I always thought it would be some nice perpetual date thing with a moon phase… turns out it’s some bs Withings thing with. HR monitor in it. Booo….
