My wheels are going around the houses.
Fucking Hermes.

Can confirm wiggle will not price match and it is not their policy to refund the difference. But they will let you buy a new set of wheels at the new price and return the old ones for a full refund.

Byways are available for half that on wiggle if you wanted something to simulate riding on ice

I just returned something, not of that value, it only took a couple of days and no problem with the refund.

Wiggle use Evri, who must be the most inept courier company in this part of the universe. The last time I returned something to them using the Evri return label, it was in transit for well over a week.
I reckon wiggle probably will survive into the new year and continue in some shape or form but I’d still rather not take a chance. -

Agreed, that's why I was pleasantly surprised how quickly it got returned.
Totally understand about not chancing it though with something expensive.

Just bought some of those £30 disc brake hubs (£32 with the QR adapters). Don’t have a disc brake bike and don’t plan to, but for that price it’s worth having them just in case…

Maxxis Rambler for £24 from the hated BikeInn
What’s the best for mud out of these options then?

The Prime ones? Mine arrived today and came with qr adapters. I also ordered a front 15mm adapter and they came with one of those too!

3 boxes arrived today. No haribo. Guess administrators nixxed the supply contract.

Which rear prime disc hub is going to fit 135mm qr?
-
• #6542
Picked up a pair of Prime Attaquer wheels for £99 delivered. I measure them as 1445g inc. tubeless rim tape. 21mm internal rim, star ratchet hub, dt swiss spokes. Seem nicely made, subtle graphics. Not going to compare with higher end wheelsets, but for the money can't think of anything that comes close

They all do, mine came with qr end caps.

Oh great! To wiggle again.
-
• #6545
That's a steal, I just got them last week for 180!
-
• #6546
That's still good value!
-

One thing about the hubs is they're 24h so not the most versatile spoke count IMO. Kinlin XR31 comes in 24h and should be nice and strong
-
• #6548
I have a 24h rim I’m swapping the hub into.
-
• #6549
Really? D’oh.
Well, I guess I have some spares then… Obviously if anyone is short/has use for them, give me a shout.
I guess 409g is fairly mid-range for discs, maybe DT Swiss 350 level? On a par with those generally, would you say?

How many pages ago was the superstar clearout frenzy? :D
Wiggle has indeed gone wild on the Prime wheel bits though… I should really be sitting on a pile of mismatched carbon clincher rims, but managed to resist.
27.5 x 1.75 is more like 43mm wide, not 47mm.
Ribble were selling some Halo 650 x 47 tyres a while ago for £10 each, I got some of the GXC ones which were good. Not available any more?
Otherwise I'd get these if you're a fairweather off road rider and will wait for the trails to dry up:
