Vowles
A fairly low bar but he comes across well on the new Brawn documentary

Haven't got around to checking that out, will pop it on the list!
Listening to Vowles chatting, whether it's about the inclusion of a new team, or his chats over the radio with the drivers, it's a guy I'd love to have as a boss!
Also, Red Bull outsourcing their strategy to Ferrari in quali? That was a pretty obviously risky move to pull Perez in on a brand new track that's quickly ramping up.

Once the on track coverage started i struggled to notice/care they were in Vegas but tbf that was a really enjoyable race. All speculation at the moment but it wouldn't surprise me if Lando's wipe out was caused at least partly by a track defect.

Yeah the on-track action was decent enough IMO. Most of that was due to the lack of field spread. Guessing that was largely a combo of not much high speed corners and low aero dependancy meaning the cars could follow close enough to continuously catch back up on the straights.
I can definitely see it being just like Baku, with a few great races but also some years that are just a complete snoozefest.
Not sure whether I want more or less of this sort of crap though:

New ones for next year? I thought the race was continuing until '28?

Alpha Tauri to be renamed Visa Cash App Racing Bulls by the looks of things.
Don't get me wrong, having Alfa and Alpha teams on the grid together felt a bit silly. But it was a fair bit better than this and Kick Stake Sauber or whatever they're called.

Media very confidently reporting that Hamilton is off to Ferrari next year.
-
• #9591
Doesn't bode well for Merc's 2024 car...
-
• #9592
On the plus side, with Hamilton's past 2 years at Merc, Ferrari are unlikely to completely break his spirit like they did with Alonso, Vettel & Leclerc.
Was expecting this year's silly season to be an utterly wild one, was not expecting it to kick off so soon. Will also be a good benchmark for Leclerc, exciting times!
Also really hope that Audi have a strong package as I'd love to see Sainz stay near the top of the field.
-
• #9593
Would explain why Sainz isn’t yet extended.
-
• #9594
I mean, most drivers whose contracts were/are due expire at the end of this year aren't extended. Which I think is everyone barring Verstappen, Leclerc, Russell, Piastri & Stroll.
But I think Sainz Sr. has been lining Jr. up for the Audi team for a while now.
-
• #9595
Both McLaren drivers are beyond this year as are both Merc drivers altho supposedly, Hamilton has a break clause
-
• #9596
Is the reading of this then that the W15 is a complete and utter dog?
-
• #9597
Ah I didn't catch Norris' one. Was going to say that was a foregone conclusion but I'd have said the same about Hamilton!
-
• #9598
Don't think anyone can say until pre-season testing at least, or more realistically the first quali session. Merc were bigging themselves up in 2022 and look how that turned out.

Wonder
whowhat he's done...
I don't get many things to celebrate about as a Ferrari fan, but it's great to have a team principal who's not afraid to call out bullshit questions:

Toto by contrast, sounds like he's got some stake in this and wants it all to blow over without addressing the concerns:

Looking forward to watching the full thing and getting Vowles' opinion, could listen to that guy all day long
