The Beacon just throws a massive pool of light out. I wasn't a big fan of it on my bike on the road, so I made a little shield out of kydex to keep the beam down. However it was great off road.
However i hace ridden with David from sinewave and the light doesn't bother me from his light when riding together.

Another option I'm considering is getting a Sinewave Beacon for my touring bike and moving the IQ-X I have on there to replace the IQ-XS on my everyday bike. Have read that the beam pattern is more or a spotlight type thing, more suited to off-road than road. Anyone have experience of using the Beacon (or similar Sinewave light) on road?
