  • Yeah screw that Viltrumite traitor Barb

  • Have been watching two doors down. Not sure if it is funny or makes me cringe.

  • 2 episodes into Yellowstone, pretty sure it’s rubbish, but I’m not totally going to write off yet

  • Finally got round to the last series of Westworld, S03 got boring so never jumped on S04 but I'm enjoying the pretty big plot change stuff and am back onboard.

  • Amazon don't seem to be making much of a thing of it, but season 5 of Fargo is excellent so far.

Jon Hamm as you'd expect, but Juno Temple is also excellent.

  • Yeah, Fargo is great.

  • Squid Game the challenge is gripping. It's brilliantly done if somewhat ironically missing the message of original.

  • First two episodes of Slow Horses season 3 are good so far, the next one released today.

The writing makes it, so dry and funny, Gary Oldman is amazing.

  • I hadn't even seen that there had been a season 4!

  • Looking forward to binging the new Slow Horses, Reacher and Bosch for mindless fun over Christmas but TV life has felt empty since completing season 3 of Mr Inbetween. Currently watching A murder at the end of the world (quite good) and Culprits (absolute shite, girlfriend wants to keep going but each episode gets worse) but hoping there's a decent low key crime drama out there that's maybe flying under the radar?

We Own This City is on the list.

  • Finally finished The Goldbergs. Started off as a bit of light relief but definitely carried on too long.

Also watched Robodoc which is good if you're a fan of the Robocop movie.

  • We started watching Slow Horses last week and just on season 2 now -the gag with Min's car CD player still making me giggle

  • RE lowkey crime dramas, I enjoyed Blue Lights for some northern irish police business. It's got that BBC aesthetic, but I thought it was well put together and a thoroughly enjoyable 6 parter available on iplayer.

Bodies, on netflix, is fun in a sort of nonsense time-travelling crime caper way.

  • I hadn't even seen that there had been a season 4!

Yeah for some reason Amazon don't advertise Fargo at all. The new season doesn't even show in the recent releases, even though its a weekly episode drip (which I hate).

+1 for Slow Horses too, another episode drip, but good as ever. I've actually picked up the first book, interested to see if it has the same tone.

  • Thanks, will check them out.

Still looking for a UK stream for Homicide, LotS if anyone has a link.

  • do you, or anyone you want to watch it with work at an education institution?
If so you can probably watch it all on BoB.

  • Movies7.to has most of what you might want. Legal questions aside.

  • Culprits (absolute shite, girlfriend wants to keep going but each episode gets worse)

As previous post, I really enjoyed it, characters, time changes, lines blurred, right amount of violence, locations, slow reveals, even the plot.

For low key dramas, try any of the Walter Presents European offerings.

  • Probably fairer to say that i didn't like it than calling it shite but i'm struggling to see anything past a bad Guy Ritchie knock off with a lot of unbelievable/half cooked characters. I also found the violence pretty nasty and blasé at times.

The relationship with the main character at the beginning was a nice start but for me it nose dived once the backstory kicked in.

  • Finished watching The Fall of the House of Usher, both of us liked it. It start with the "right I know what the plot is going to be" feeling but the details/subtext are well done, the characters are well written (some a bit less but there are so many that is fine) and I love an Evil Woman character. The show also has a few great visual moments. The director did a few horror movies like Oculus.

Watch Lars Van Triers Riget 1&2 which are great mad fun, hospital soap plus haunted hospital which is a weird combo but somehow it works, scary stuff with random humour.

The actors died so I didn't expect much when S3 came out as it is super hard to pick up a series so much later, but it really wasn't good. Plot was far too hurried and the ending sucks and I am irrationally annoyed by this.

So watch S1+S2 and make up your own ending ;)

  • just finished watching twin peaks series 1 & 2 for the first time
got to say it was pretty good, not sure why i've never watched it before, should i watch the modern follow on and the side quests ?

  • It does get pretty Lynchian, but I enjoyed it. If your bullshit threshold is low it might annoy you, but if you got through series 1 and 2 you’ll be fine.

  • Season 3 is fantastic, keep going!

  • Yes to Season 3! So good.

  • Really enjoying the latest season of Fargo
