Back. No masks at all on show, staff or patients.
It was a booked appointment at minor injuries but it was still amazingly efficient. Arrival, check-in and confirming things, initial consultation with nurse, trip to radiology for x-rays, review of x-rays with nurse (no fracture), and out the door. All in 17 minutes.

I don't live in a big city but I've been traveling for a couple of weeks including 3 big cities in Australia and a big sporting event in Korea. Whilst masks are not ubiquitous, they're certainly pretty common, particularly on public transport. Was surprised at so few on the planes tho, but I think that nobody is enthralled by 14 hours of mask time any more.

My other half has COVID. Symptoms are more like a cold but LFT is positive. I suppose I should avoid going into the office for a bit but I don't think we will keep our kids off school unless they develop symptoms.

Now my mum has Covid. Maybe caught from my other half, maybe not. Hard to be sure either way.
Being 83, having dementia and a dodgy hip has complicated things and she ended up in A&E and then admitted to a ward. She is in a single room, presumably because of covid so that is sort of a benefit? Apparently doesn't need any specific covid meds and might be home in a day or so.

Turns out this is still a thing.
Felt shite all weekend, assumed it was a cold (not had one for a few years)got a cupboard full of tests so thought I'd treat myself.
Double lines, no going to work for me this week. -

Me too. Started feeling very unwell on Thursday night, tested positive Friday morning. Three days of on/off fever, coughing, congestion etc. The worst part is my tonsils are inflamed and it’s very painful to swallow. Had a telephone consultation with the GP today and they have recommended salt water gargling, which is helping a bit.

Better half started feeling rough last Saturday evening - rough all weekend, tested positive last Tuesday and is now feeling better after testing negative on Saturday.
Thought I’d dodged it, but have had a bad cold and tested positive on Saturday. Phoned in sick today - feel best I have since Friday, but can’t focus on anything.

Felt rough as fuck today (throat/cough/aches/brain-fog), negative Covid test. Have just spent weekend with in-laws and my dad all in their 80s.
-
• #27412
It’s my understanding that a negative test means you’re not contagious?
So you were probably clear at the weekend.
-
• #27413
We have given up on all testing for employees here at work, if you are too ill to work stay at home. If you are well enough to come back in..... Then it's back to work.
-
• #27414
Wow, so even if you test positive, if you feel well enough it's back to work?
-
• #27415
We are advised/told not to test. I might have the link somewhere.

Current Government guidance (via the NHS) is:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/covid-19-symptoms-and-what-to-do/
"
What to do if you have tested positiveYou are no longer required to do a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test if you have symptoms.
But if you or your child have tested positive for COVID-19:
- try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day the test was taken if you or your child are under 18 years old – children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults
- try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the day you took your test if you are 18 years old or over
- avoid meeting people who are more likely to get seriously ill from viruses, such as people with a weakened immune system, for 10 days after the day you took your test
"
So it's just "try".
- try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day the test was taken if you or your child are under 18 years old – children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults

So you were probably clear at the weekend.
Or I was at the weekend and it has waned now. The point is I'll never know.
-
• #27418
True. In my experience, the thickness of the line is proportional to symptoms.
I hope you’re feeling better soon!

on the mend.
My timeframe was Saturday generally tired (didn't think much about it)
Sunday, felt awful, coming down with a cold.
Monday, proper shite, did a test and double lined, didn't work and sat around all day
Tuesday, delirious, achy, tired, headache, bad cold.
Wednesday, now just feels like i have a moderate cold, still a bit achy all round, but have logged into work. Not sure I'll make it all day, but we shall see, it isn't hard work really.
LadyDeth is in a similar situation but 3 days ahead (Her symptoms started on Weds/ Thurs) -

So broken I didn't get out of bed for ~36h. Garmin says my HR averaged 100bpm for a good 24h period.
Sunday night I had a bit of a cough but thought nothing of it.
Monday, the cough was there and a bit of a sore throat, struggling to focus on things, bailed from work early. Collected daughter in the evening and went straight to bed. Wearing extra layers, woolly hat, hot water bottle, etc and still shivering.
Tue, all day in bed, literally did not get up once, aches, fever/sweats (even after shedding extra layers), delirious dreams, bringing up loads of gunk from lungs
Wed, at least I can get up but still feel utter shite -

Hope you’re both feeling better soon. Mine is sinuses and stuffiness, but I got the vaccine in late October.

Anyone got any experience of long Covid?
I got it for the 2nd time at the beginning of December. Knocked me out for a week but recovered fine (or so I thought).
Seems to be coming back in waves every few days… headache, sore limbs (particularly legs / hips), extreme tiredness and brain fog though that’s not severe and probably related to the tiredness.
Hoping it’s something that will pass soon but no idea if I should go to the doctors and get it registered / tested or if a few weeks is really just post viral fatigue.
-
• #27423
My sister's had it since getting covid in the first wave :(
A few weeks might not be long covid yet - rest as much as much as you possibly can for another few weeks... If it's coming back in waves, you might not be giving yourself a chance to recover properly. There's a thread on here (of course) https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/353711/

So I've been testing positive a few days now.
First thought it was some (mild) flu variant as tested negative. Not that bad all in, 2 days more or less in bed and normal symptoms. But have I slept since symptoms are way better?
FUCK.
Ok, I am anxious because big stuff happening and had it before, but it's been like 20 years sleep felt so distant.
Anyone else? -

Just tested positive for Covid. It’s the first time I have had such a result, but this feels exactly the same as the symptoms I had twice last year (one time I ended up with pneumonia).
Tomorrow my wife flies away for a business trip so now need to isolate until then.
Uuurggghh
Took my boy to the hospital yesterday for a routine appointment. All the staff are back wearing masks and gowns, at least in paediatrics.
