Thought I would ask here before ringing HMRC in the morning just in case there was a quickbooks/accounting/EU trade guru on here.
. Doing my vat return (via quickbooks) and i paid for some advertising in a publication that went into their Belgian account in Euros, have an invoice with 20% vat included.
Pre brexit this was all so simple as they simply didn't charge you vat, now i’m confused as to how I log this transaction and even if the vat is reclaimable by having to fill in loads of forms and send off to the Belgian tax people?
not that I would do that as it’s less grief to simply write off the vat.
