I rode Liz’s don’t call it a hybrid bike in today as it was icy as fuck at 6am and I didn’t fancy 25c fixed before a gallon of coffee.

I love that

Makes me lol. Very similar to my 1950s Rory O’Brien track path commuter. Which also suffered a snapped fork. Hope your fork failure was less dramatic than mine.
Also pictured, the new commuter.

Took the baby seat off the 3 speed baby carrying Ellis Briggs this week for commutes, due to a loose crank on the 50s road/track that's been in use recently

Oh to live close enough to be able to walk to work...

I WFH so it's not even a "gravel" commute. It's more a stagger to kitchen, stagger to pisser, stagger to desk.

: resists trolling forum by posting my scruffy Ford Ka :
My commute is just about rideable in summer if I’m feeling decadent and wake up early(30 miles each way from east London out to the Essex countryside) but at this time of year I’d be a gibbering wreck by the time I opened up the workshop. :/

You commute backwards as it were?
That must make the roads quieter at least. -
• #15
Yep, it’s a quick drive up the m11 up to harlow(ish), opposite direction to all the traffic, it looks seriously bleak for those that drive into town every day.
I can take the train most of the way/ride in the summer but it ends up costing more than the petrol and takes much longer so not always practical when I start really early. More a treat once or twice a week, the ride home on a summers evening is ace.

That snapped fork photo always makes me feel so anxious. I now think twice when dropping off a kerb riding my dumb commuter of similar vintage.

If that makes you anxious I could show you the photo with all the teeth it relocated.
Check ya forks!

I'm usually on the Kepler, but when it drops below freezing overnight I generally get the fear and take the bus.

Rode the Bäckerladefl in today, well it’s got a rack and a bag anyway. Sequoia under a sequoia at dawn.

So far this week I’ve been on The Mystery Machine, unknown builder 1951 pathfinder/tourer fixed gear. Normally it’s got drops not those gawd awful skinny flats, but the og fork is snapped etc etc
Come on what have are you riding?
