Over the distances involved, I doubt the flow rate needed by the machine would be near the limit of the 1/4" pipe.
-
• #25203
Ok, that makes things more straightforward - zero hole drilling required.

The 3/8" to 1/2" to 1/4" section makes my teeth itch, but it's what's available.

If it’s any consolation, some of our most advanced scientific kit at work making the most sensitive measurements ever made end up looking like that because of stupid meaningless pipe sizes and their associated ridiculous threads.

I imagine you’ll have your hand bitten off!

This works well in both an aeropress (and for filter). Generally an all round cracking coffee that I've had a few bags of.

Does anyone have a DF64? Any feedback if so? I am looking at the DF64P single dose espresso version.
I don't mind using a hand grinder for filter, but having been espresso-less at home for 18 months, I forgot how miserable it can be for espresso with lightly roasted coffees.... A Niche shipped to the US is $655 vs a DF64 at $400, so quite the difference.

No direct experience but internet chat/YouTube seems to point to the DF64v2 being a marked improvement in user experience over all other DF64 models (including the P). Same price too I think.

I'm rejoining this thread, I have a Sage dual boiler arriving today in the "dynamic duo" bundle that includes a grinder. I wanted something cheap and cheerful that I could quickly order, didn't want to spend the time researching and buying something more expensive yet, just something that could arrive in a few days and that will make pretty good coffee straight away.

Very nice.
I was looking at three and couldn't decide which one and none were available for delivery in a couple of days, hence the Sage thing as a temporary stop-gap for a while.
The ones on my shortlist were/are:

- https://www.ecm.de/en/products/details/product/Product/Details/synchronika.html
That last one looks very much like the one you've linked above.

I couldn't really comment I'm afraid. I did no research, just bought it off a friend of a friend.
It's a little more complex than my old setup - the Rocket grinder has a digital display (shit, I need to read a manual?!) and I've gone back to tank fill so I'll need to get another filter jug I reckon to try and spare the machine from some of the water nasties.

I think I’m going for the Synchronika but am still also looking at the Lelit Elizabeth and Bianca
-

After spending too much time window shopping for machines I’ll never buy, I always thought the Elizabeth looked bang on for the cash.
The internal diameter of the braided hose that Marzocco provide is the same ID as the 1/4” tube that has been used to plumb the water filter in. Am I just making a rod for my own back trying to run the braided hose from the mains in this case and I should just T the plastic 1/4” and connect to the braided hose where it’s convenient?
