is there a good way to change over to a more common dimmable LED light type as a DIY job?
If you have the vertical space in the ceiling void, try to find a fitting which goes in the same hole and takes a GU10 35mm or 50mm lamp, as those are readily available in pretty much any output/colour temperature you can think of. You'll need to run the 240V AC to each fitting in place of the existing low voltage wiring. If you want to stick to low voltage and low profile, look for something which takes G4 capsule lamps. You'll need an new driver to go with them.
What on earth is this light fitting and where can I buy a replacement?
Just bought a home and one of the bedrooms has some weird lights. LEDs on a dimmer. I couldn't find any markings on the unit itself, so have opened it all up and there is some text on the PCB, but it isn't very helpful so far in finding a replacement. Attached are pictures of the light unit I pulled out of the ceiling, and the driver unit it was plugged into.
If it's gonna be impossible or very expensive to find a similar replacement, is there a good way to change over to a more common dimmable LED light type as a DIY job?
