Let's keep it on subject shall we?
structures out of pallet wood.
Doesn't really scream teak or mahogany does it?
Go ahead if you wanna hand sand a turd, it's still a turd.

Yes, let's
There is unskilled labour involved
I'm interpreting that as there being many hands to make work light, but no budget for machinery hire.

Right. Thanks. A couple packs each of 80 and 120 picked up on the way to work. I would've gone for hand sanding, but workshop lead suggests palm sanders. (No need for hiring.)

What forum is the "KLF does the Jamms" thread or whatever it was called in?
I recall a post there in the last few weeks but can't find thread in General or Misc,or anywhere else, and a search for KLF doesn't bring up anything either. Anyone?

Ah OK thanks, i dont get those search options when searching on mobile (android) so.dont get the boxes to tick/untick I get at home on desktop.
Cheers tho, didn't cross my mind to look in rides and races.

• #119583
Confusingly, those tick boxes are there on mobile/android (or they are for me), but you have to click on the same three dots button that you intially have to press to find the search bar
-
• #119584
OK thanks, weird I just tried again and still don't get the tick box options even when pressing the 3 little dots in top right corner.
Bit weird but no worries thread found in the end, and I do most of my lufgussing at home on desktop anyway.

Do the search, then press the 3 dots on the results page to filter.

Masks might be advised, as some pallet wood can be treated by nasty chemicals.
-
• #119587
And for the same reasons, don’t burn the off cuts.
-
• #119588
Usually only if it's a painted pallet. Bare wood ones should be stamped HT which stands for heat treated. All bare wood Euro pallets should be stamped with HT. Red/Blue/Green painted ones will be treated with fire retardant etc.
-
• #119589
They're bare wood. They're all British Gypsum so probably been used for transporting plasterboard or similar. But we're going to treat them with fire retardant after sanding anyway.

Given it will go below freezing tonight, but not rain*, will it be slippery out on the roads tomorrow? I'd like to be all weathers but I really really don't want to slip out
*if it does obviously all bets are off

I've got a DVD disk image. Back in the day I used to use some software to get the video off that and into a single video file. Before I go rooting round the internet trying to find some free software rather than a guide shilling for some paid software can anyone point me in the right direction here. Cheers

• #119593
Ah yes, that's what I used to use. Cheers

Staying near Kentish Town
Where is currently the best fish and chips in London?
-
• #119595
Not sure about the best (nor is it particularly close to Kentish Town), but Kennedy's on Whitecross St. in Clerkenwell was always my go-to for fish & chips

Olivers on Haverstock Hill or Chippy on the Corner on Cally Road, both decent.
Neither are quite Trenchers level, mind.
80 is for roughing operations on softwood. You're going to get the worst bits flattened out and the corners rounded off pretty quickly with that, but you'll have to run your hand over it to see if you want to go further. I'd probably show up with 120 grit as well for a second operation just in case.
