The Kona Shred came with a dreadful fork which I switched out for a second hand air Reba. All good.
Then I added a rear derailleur extender from Uber and ditched the stock 2X and added a big rear cassette from Uber. Added a cheap narrow/wide chainring. This setup never worked properly due to the lack of a clutch in the rear derailleur. Cost buttons but was a complete timesuck.
Edit to add. The stock wheels on the Kona were heavy but bulletproof. I ran one over and expected the worst at the LBS. New spokes and a true and good to go!
