Maybe I should just strip the Tripster and put its group on a Carbonda :)
We're getting there, slowly but surely :)

No, yes, no and no
I wouldn't have bought a gravel bike without one and being able to get one at a a decent price with the proper GRX lever means I've ditched the hardtail and road bike for one do-it-all, go-anywhere option. Gives me way more confidence off-road and it's even nice when you're at some lights and useful for storage.

Totally worth it if they're £40

I just got a secondhand ti Camino with Prima Kanza wheelset in almost unused condition https://road.cc/content/review/270857-prime-kanza-650b-carbon-gravel-wheelset
They feel really nice, but I'm planning on the bike getting some pretty rough use, and being used as a bikepacking rig on rough terrain and laden. I will also likely want to set it up with dynamos at some point. I've never had carbon wheels before, are they up to the job of rough treatment? Or would I be better off selling them whilst they've in premium condition and getting something else?

I’ve just ordered some prime orra carbon 650b wheels and they are going to get abused and overloaded. The Ribble ones I have on at the moment have been spot on. I’m only getting more to stop having to change tyres on rims. Carbon rims seem to be a strong as all get out to me. Go for it.

No, yes*, yes * and up to you.
*Definitely heavier and less reliable than a solid post.
Not heavy or unreliable enough to put me off them where they are justified. Ie, I'm in no rush to put one on my gravel bike but wouldn't ride a mountain bike without one nowadays.

Have you discounted the Mason Bokeh based on weight?
-
• #28817
My missus already has an orange Bokeh that I'm jealous of. I don't really want to buy matching his and hers bikes. I'm still in two minds about it - I thought about going full steel again but I think I want to go the other way and build it light and fast so it's more of a road bike replacement. Because I already have the Stanton for rough stuff.

I think they were referring to this one: https://vitusbikes.com/collections/venon-evo-rs/products/vitus-venon-evo-frameset-07e7
A friend of mine has one and it probably the best (affordable) gravel/road crossover bike.
The Substance model you linked is just a Carbonda 696, which is great, but is a straightup gravel bike.
In the orientexpress thread there was some effort to find an open mold Venon but it is actually an original design, unlike the rest of their range.Seems like exactly what you're looking for?
If Vitus will still exists post wiggle.. -

2XL only size frameset left and mostly SRAM options. But yeah, not a bad idea. Did I dismiss it last time for some other reason? I can't remember. Maybe the non-27.2 seatpost annoyed me or the 40mm tyre clearance with an FD in use.
£2.4k for the L in this version:

Sounds like you want a CX bike!
Might have a Forme Calver SL framesate coming up soon.. 1.4kg frame + 400g fork, basically same weight as a Carbonda
