Well, you might. I'm a tightarse (and who specified old?). That's why I like Kinesis stuff for year round abuse. I don't cry when I drop an allen key on a £700 frame or ride the cheapest Shimano BB through a flooded road. I only took the Shiv out in bad conditions when it was a race or leading to a race. I didn't just flog it day in day out. That was what the PX was for.
I did shitloads of miles on my Ribble Audax, that was the wrong size, before giving it away. Think they were less than £100 new. If you're that fussy about your bikes, maybe you should stick to the turbo in winter. :-*
