• Just tried on some Albion kit in Condor... the new Rain Shell is an amazing jacket... all the bells and whistles etc but not exctly what I was looking for... if you're looking for a jacket you can wear on and off the bike, this is it! The new long sleeve ultra jerseys are real nice too... might get the other half to get me one for Xmas... shame about the jacket as I really wanted to get one!!!

  • Le coursier is really nice, thanks!

  • Cheers to all that came down to last weeks repairs session. Big thank you to Condor and Via Atellier for being such fantastic hosts, and Apidura for joining the evening session. Hi to the Forummers who popped in, lovely to see new faces and old. Also big thanks to Albion colleagues, everything worked out perfectly.

Here's some photos to get an idea of the type of repairs we were doing. Majority was scuffs/scrapes on lycra, knees and hips on winter tights type-of-thing, that we can patch over with heat-bonded stretch panels, then zig-zag stitched for durability.

  • Good on you doing a repairs day. What building a brand actually should involve.

  • Came down got some tights patched on lunch break. You were deep in the sowing machine so left you be. Crew were super friendly. Thanks to you all!!

  • bought my 1st ever zoa ins jack :) lf to it!

  • Are there any plans to restock the phone case/wallets? Mine still has some life in it but it might be time to replace soon.

  • I've discovered that it's the perfect jacket for midnight cycling to an industrial techno club in frosty temps with only a tshirt on underneath.

  • That sounds weirdly sexy 😅

  • @Chopsicle same question for the orange Lightweight Insulated Zoa in Medium; would love to get one for this weather!

  • Zoa ins jack arrived, v eco-friendly packed.
Genuinely I thought they were made in the UK but it says Made in China.
Still high in quality though and LF to test on the icy mornings!

  • Me cycling to training in shorts t-shirt and Zoa

  • I popped down to Condor when they were fixing stuff the other. Like others have said it's a great initiative and they are such a friendly bunch. Also apologies for my earlier boneheaded comment about return postage - we all have off days (work has been busy alright)

But another shout-out for the quality and intelligence of their materials. Enjoyed their ss jersey in the summer, material and fit wise it's easily my fav. Now that it's winter tho it's like I've fallen in love all over again - the combination of cut and warm but lightweight materials makes getting out in the cold so nice. I let a friend borrow an older pricey softshell to tide her over while she finds her road cycling feet and it felt like a canvas tarp compared to my albion insulated gilet and jacket. I haven't done a long ride in a few months and was trying to schedule my audaxes for next year and getting a little nervous. Doing a kit check of what I'd need over the coming year gave me a nice bump of confidence thinking I'd be able to stay warm but not weighed down over some of the longer stuff I've got coming up

  • Posting here because there was some interest in post-PFAS world and future of waterproof technology,

    This article needed to be written years ago. Great to see issues (and opportunities) being laid out in a pragmatic and honest way. It goes someway to begin the reset we need to do around expectation of waterproof-breathable technology;

  • @Bossman ahhhh should have said hello - Always good to put a face to a forum name - and thanks for coming along!

@Rusty_Nail I'm afraid not :( The UK company that made them folded a few years back, but they sent the die-stamps that cut them out, so never-say-never!

@timmbo I'm afraid not just yet. At our scale it's a delicate balancing act to order in high-value stock married to demand/cash-flow. Bear with us while we grow slowly and sustainably!

  • Thanks for posting this (even if your previous post on the matter was already an accurate TL:DR on the issue!)

  • A interesting read as i have spent s few week's down a rabbit hole looking at goretex pro and epu, rab Latok, mountain equipment shivling and tupilak ,Norrona Trollveggen , Mammut Nordwand Advanced . Sizing seems to be the biggest problem not breathability . Long enough in the rear , tight alpine fitting but arms to long then the hoods are for climbing helmets . Pit zips vislon face zips pockets internal external, dyes Chinese manufacture , warranty denier thickness . Its a mine field with no solution.

  • Any chance of orange road rain jackets in medium?

I’ve managed to rip my assos race cape, and given it’s done probably 15 years of everything from commuting to training to racing to touring, and that the clear/ white has turned to stained poo brown, I’m kind of happy to let it go to the cycle clothing party in the sky.

  • On the lookout for an insulated gilet if anyone's thinking of parting with theirs?
Medium or large in good condition.

    Thanks!

  • Just lost my wife's orange burner scarf. Before she manages to use as an excuse to divorce me, is there any chance of it being restocked any time soon?

  • Just wondering if Albion are doing a January sale I only ask as they did last year?

  • I was wondering the same, fancy a new rain jacket.

Perhaps they’re not as desperate as Rapha are currently.

  • Rapha are sir spamalot at the moment..
