  • It's amazing looking at the user feedback, that after 130yrs of toaster development there are still such fundamental flaws in toaster design.

    One of the worst offenders is the 2 slice design. For something that only serves 13% of the population they are vastly over represented.

  • I am now fearful I have to Google for “smart toaster” to discover someone has made a toaster, controlled by an app but that none of the fundamental issues with toasters are addressed or solved by adding a phone into the toasting routine.

    It really shouldn’t be too difficult, even toasting, can accommodate different loaf shapes and slice widths, can eject easily without destroying or crushing the item.

    We have the dualit toaster but the slots can barely accommodate a crumpet, rather than lift the item up it levers from one side so it crushes things like hot cross buns, and after initial use it so so hot that if trying to toast bread from frozen it can burn the outside but the middle is still cool.
