Perfect, set it and forget it. It finishes at the time I decide and keeps it warm if I sleep in.
I do use my rice cooker to make risotto, and leave it on heat warm for ages.
Think my Japanese rice cooker has a congee setting but don't understand how it works.

It has a "porridge" setting that I use for oats though I suspect it's a translation of congee. 3 to 1 ratio and some salt.
