Got the T-Ratchet in my hand. It really is a bit shit compared to the Wera, Felo and Gear Wrench ratchets I have. Lots of play, ratchet feels quite rough and the plastic rotation lever is hard to use/gets stuck. Hopefully the bits are decent...

Genuine question - if you already own three good ratchets, why did you buy this one?
-
• #6354
Fair question. I like tools and was after another set of hex bits.
-

Fair enough - it's not as if compulsive purchasing should be alien to anyone on a niche hobby forum like this, I just hadn't really considered it applying to such practical items as ratchet sets. Sure, people can fetishise Japanese-made hand saws, Victorian planes and fancy pillar drills, but I hadn't imagine that extending to the more mundane items of the tool box. This was clearly just a failure of my imagination.

it's amazing to me that you can get a brand new, top of the range honda crf 450cc scrambler motorbike for £1,000 cheaper

how do they justify that price for a pushbike -

Tool academy have 20% discount plus another 4.87 cashback for a set.

You're absolutely right - I posted it as it's a relatively low price vs RRP and there might be a buyer on the lookout, but it's potty. The fact they've shaved a further £1,000 off it without blinking too

It’s crazy! Someone I work with has just bought a 125cc Honda scooter with tax, insurance, a helmet, a jacket and CBT training for £2,200 brand new.

You can buy a brand new car for less. Admittedly, it's a niche EV with low range, but it's probably far more comfortable to commute in.
There appears to be so much greed in the cycling industry now it's big business. Needs a reset.

Yes, and no connection with the original Italian company beside just purchasing the name.
This said I have an original Italian one that came with an old bike. Beside that it is amazing that it still works, it is just a plain pump!
Silca has now copied also the original Hirame pump head, which I would highly recommend!

Nearly lost my tea via nostrils
Never understand the Silca fuss.
Once saw a track pump of theirs advertised for over two thousand pounds.
