Not sure what that has to do with my point.
Prison should be the absolute last resort.
Many prisoners have mental health issues, trauma, low level education etc. and I think it's overused in the UK.
Some people have committed violent crimes that victims want ti be punished severely, some people are a danger to society and rehabilitation failed, but as a whole prison is expensive and often makes outcomes worse.
Been in prison? Now you can't get a job in many places....and so on.

One of the few good things the Tories have done is to reform the criminal records rehabilitation periods.
I am a big advocate of giving people another chance and hopefully the new legislation will help some people to move on from their past.

Wasn't suppose to be a direct reply to, just a general chatting reply.
Was trying to discuss how expensive it is to keep people locked up? That money IMO might be better spent on smaller class sizes ;) also been told that lots of prisoners suffer from undiagnosed ADHD (the impulse control)Also look how badly the private prisons have been run and all they are there is to make profit for someone.
As for being in prison, I wondered many people had either seen inside a prison, or experienced time in prison over police cells.
If you think prison is bad, try a mental health ward.
Do you know how much prisons in the UK cost.
Any of you actually been in a prison?
