I managed to get the seatpost out and the stem which had also seized. The stem was entirely seized in the fork steerer and I had no alternative but to cut it off. Therefore the fork that came with the frame was then too short to fit.
I managed to source a couple of pairs of forks.
1 pair of threadless Alpina with curved carbon blades and alloy steerer. Great condition but the steerer has been cut by someone on crack and isn’t flat and therefore would need recutting. It’s 250mm at its longest, so even after sorting will be plenty long enough and around 245mm.
1 pair of unknown brand threadless forks 245mm steerer. These are straight bladed and full carbon and very light.
Given how few 1” threadless forks were full carbon I can only guess that these are from a good brand.
At some point someone has slightly over tightened the stem on the steerer making a barely visage indentation on the steerer.
I’ve tried to show this in the photos. I’d use it but best to be honest from the start.
SOLD
I’d really rather not post this as getting a frame box is tricky and the shipping would near double the price.
I’m in Newport South Wales and could deliver at cost to Bristol (of if the stars align and someone buys the other frame I’m going to sell deliver to London maybe).
Joe Waugh 853 Frame and choice of forks.
59cm ctc seat tube
58cm ctc top tube
191mm head tube
Bit of a forum project frame that no one has completed.
I’m sure @Skülly has had it and I bought it off @Hamishio a few years back, here’s the link:
