Hoggenberg Map is out.
Course looks a lot less technical than previous years
But i'll be expecting significant mud around the steps/mound and the grassy lane/mud traverse

The start up the Hog sounds hard...

It's over before you know it.
There is a lot of recovery that comes after around 2mins of racing that layout. So accept that the first 2mins will hurt and then you can recover and get into your race ryhtm

I think it depends on how much it a) dries out this week and b) the eastern league event on Saturday churns it up.
The entrance off the tarmac to the rollers section last year was comedic, in terms of mud.

The bottom of the hill holds soo much water.
In 2021 I rolled over the finish line and my girlfriend thought I had leg warmers on.
Nope, just 100% mud covered legs. -

I'm going to be wildly optimistic and pack the Grifos again this year...

I rode my first ever East Kent CX event at Astor College in Dover yesterday. Although Dover is 70 miles away, the course is only a mile or so off the A20 so very accessible by car from London. I was contemplating the train option, but never got round to seeing how feasible it was.
They made really good use of the entire venue, essentially three school playing fields on three different levels, but made great use of the slopes between them to make what could've been a dull course into something that really tested your bike handling skills. The heavy rain during the senior race turned the course from damp to slick and slippery as hell, which added another layer to the handling skill test.
I really enjoyed my race, even if I did manage to stack it on one of the off camber bends when one of my rivals dived up the inside on a corner that I was taking wide, and was then in the exact area I was aiming for. I touched my front brake and went down fast. Managed to beat him in the end though.

Sorry, I’ve not been following closely. What is the best race for this weekend? There’s two right?

At Hog Hill? There's an Eastern League event on Saturday, followed by a London League event on Sunday.

• #10288
There's also Hillingdon in the central league this Sunday if you'd prefer a flatter equally as muddy race out west

Did anyone do the Eastern League event at Hog Hill today?
I'm probably using public transport to get there tomorrow, so will only have two pairs of wheels, and need to decide which pair of tubs (full muds or intermediates) to bring.
Only mediums. But that's a bargain. If I had any money id buy it as a spare for next year.
