I don’t want to be a party pooper, but the Silca ratchet is not very good. Mine slips and is getting returned.

I ordered one of these after it was mentioned here. It’s much better in every way tbh.

Synergetic lube aside, what do Silca excel at?

Style over substance, as is so often the case with all things cycling.

Their tool roll with the boa dial is holding out and the track pumps where a standard.
Saying that they dont do the tool roll anymore.

I’m going to disagree, my T ratchet has been my go to for 3 years and is going strong, my lifeline one has been used twice and is pretty shite in comparison, slips too much to be anything more than for emergency use. Lives in Liz’s tool roll now.
The silica Italian army tool with the chain beaker on the other hand is crap well the chain beaker bit is anyway. They have replaced it 3 times now, I’ve use it once each time before it breaks on the next try…

what do Silca excel at?

Pumps

I have a Wera one because their special hex bit shape, wouldn't want to use anything else.

I also have their workshop apron which is very nice

But more durable than the much cheaper competitors?

I haven't tried the floor pumps though I'd like one.
I do have the frame pump however and yes it is noticeably higher quality and more durable than both the Zefal HPX and Topeak road master blaster that I also own.
