  • The old tyres tumbling down at the end like a black olive garnish is 🤌

The knife attacker in Dublin is Irish born. Rumours that kicked off riots suggested he was from abroad

Bit one of the people that helped is an immigrant from Brazil.

Another case of rumours running wild?

  • The knife attacker in Dublin is Irish born.

C4 news reporting naturalised Irish, been there for 20 of his 49 years.

  • OK... so the knife attacker was Algerian born but had lived in Ireland for the last 20 years and was an Irish citizen. Clearly not in his right mind and a random attack by a mentally unwell individual.

There may be some truth to the far-right business as having stoked the fire that kicked off the riots but the vast majority of the "protestors" are just scumbag kids who were looking for an opportunity to kick off and go on a looting spree... they wouldn't know their left from their right hands never mind ideologies.

The whole thing was effectively a display of wanton violence and destruction by disaffected youth of disadvantaged backgrounds and its now being twisted into fitting some far right agenda by dickheads like Boris Johnson who would take great pleasure in Ireland having an "immigrant problem".

TLDR media is not representing the reality of this situation accurately at all... what a surprise.

  • Imprisoned cop who killed George Floyd stabbed and seriously injured in federal prison.

  • The only surprise is that it took so long. I always thought that kneeling on the neck of a defenceless, handcuffed, person might not be entirely proportionate for his heinous crime. I wish nobody dead, although Braverman is close, but I am not entirely unhappy about this news.

  • I think your morality edgelordism is a dubious mix of the flat roof pub and yesterday's post chip wrapper Mail.
I'm assuming you have a limp flag of St George in the front paved over garden.

  • I wonder if his assailant pulled out his intestines? They often do that when the shiv is too short to reach the organs.

  • I think I would have assumed it was some kind of explosive device if I had found it.

  • bank-level encryption

Oh boy are there stories to tell there

  • I suggest you re-read my comment, completely wrong end of the political spectrum. Irony appears to have slipped past your notice.

  • Saw a documentary which claimed that was the most effective way to kill someone in prison- one man holds the victims arms while another stabs the abdomen several times fast and plunges then hand through, pulling out as much as they can.

    Brutal.

  • He’s a broad spectrum shit stirrer, ignoring is best

  • Every day is a learning day.

  • I think you lads are misunderstanding the notion of the rule of law. No matter how much of a rotter someone is, how they are treated by the criminal justice remains the same. Without this, demos doesn't exist.

  • And the right wing used this an excuse to riot.

Can't see any reason or rationale for this part from he's brahn, and not from round here.

  • The notion of the rule of law and its application are far from the same thing.

The rich man in his castle, the poor man at his gate, God made them high and lowly and ordered their estate (All things bright and beautiful).

Do you really believe in equality under the law with no prejudice? I use prejudice in its original form. If so you are a little naive.

  • Not sure anyone said anything to the contrary?

  • You lads just keep living in that flat roof pub in your heads where prison hardmanisms and dead Tories keep the Stella flowing. The fremen of freemen.

Edit to add.. dead brown Tories

  • McGregor, true to form, stirring shit up, this time for all of Ireland. Says the country is at war, calls on people to burn down hotels where refugees/migrants might stay.

Not sure what the laws are like for inciting violence/destruction of property, but I hope he finally gets some consequences for acting such a pratt.

  • The rich man in his castle, the poor man at his gate

In its majestic equality, the law forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, beg in the streets and steal loaves of bread.

  • The poor tramp in his cardboard, the rich tramp in his yurt, the law sees them and equal and lets them both eat dirt....

Unfortunately, Lord Tramp is more likely to know the judge or his family and have access to top quality legal representation. The law is wonderfully equal, but an analysis of the prison population suggests that its application is less so.

  • As much as what he did is wrong, it's also not ideal if prisons are so badly managed the prisoners can attack each other.

He ended up doing jail time for his crime, as flawed as the justice system is due to lack of legal help access, inherent biases etc. I rather not see prison become an unofficial revenge system.

Though of course prison has its own mini society and rules so vigilante attacks on some types of prisoners are a risk. And maybe he just pissed off the wrong person.

  • I became a lawyer precisely out of love for justice and freedom under the Law. I’ve only ever condemned violence in prisons.

@Colin_the_Bald Liberalism vs. Socialism. Equality vs Equity.
