Jay Rayner makes mention of the fact that London’s dining out experience would be a lot different if Norman hadn’t come along and started polpo.

I do love the design of his books though, the naked spine, so you could lie them flat to read recipes was a revelation (at least for me) and the recipes inside were good too.. Going to have a couple of picklebacks tonight, just because.. Ra
