Did you need scaffolding as part of that £800 as well? We've got 8 that are all c.20 years old and been quoted just shy of 10k to replace them all (not including units). The guy quoting said it would be about 1 velux per day, which doesn't compare favourably with your 3 in a day!?
@ILb we have had velux's replaced and repaired - the repair was a blown double glazing unit and replacements were switching from 25 year old velux's to new inset conservation velux's. Both repair and replace is fairly straightforward. Obviously matching the size makes it a lot easier for replace. We had three replaced in a day if that gives you an idea of the complexity. Cost of the replacements was ~£800 not including the units, that also included some lead skirting and a few slates that naturally got broken.
