  • Something something what others don’t see something ;)

  • Yet another large format (50x70 cm) oil paint colour experiment. "Birch tree".

  • This piece is reminiscent of the road leading to the Red Forest within the Chernobyl exclusion zone. A symbol of life after death, defining natures balance with the world and its resilience to the interference of mankind’s meddling with nuclear power.

  • Okay... Errrr, I'd just call it a case of too much red wine on a Monday night.

  • I watching Daniel Slos the other night and the art review of a Jackson Pollock painting inspired my bs. Which as we all know is the most important part.

  • But how do you know I'm in the last phase of a recruitment process for a job concrrning radioactivity in the environment? (not kidding!)

  • You’re drinking through the pain.

  • Haha, yes, those experts explaining an artwork really help artists to understand their inner self.

  • I believe this is a self portrait of Jackson

Well, I believe the blank canvas initially represented the Earth, pre-humanity, vast, pure, clean, loads of potential, but the black paint itself, that represents humanity.Random, chaotic, often overlapping, no start or end in sight, just constantly moving, no idea where it's gonna go and no idea whenever it's gonna stop.

All we can tell is that it's constantly repeating its history and often over-riding it. And we can deduce that one day it will eventually consume all of the Earth. But the two red dots, these are Jackson.Small, insignificant, yet, they stand out against the rest of humanity.

When Jackson was asked, what do the two red dots represent?" Jackson Pollock replied.I must have splashed it when I was painting that one."

  • 😂

  • Today Pollock would answer the painting no longer is his. It has become the property of the art-lover who gives the work his own meaning.

These last couple of posts are becoming a clear case of (spiritual) synchronicity: I just found out Pollock and I have the same birthday.

  • Trying to get the most canvas’ out of this sheet of canvas if fucking with my head

  • Looking forward to seeing this progress.

  • I've framed a couple of my paintings with the hope of displaying at the local "Architects as Artists" exhibition at the RSUA headquarters in Belfast.. Dropped them off this morning.. had to add prices to each in case they sell LOL...

  • They look great framed, what price did you put on them?

  • Yeah, these look incredible - love the top one in particular, reminds me of Carlton Hill in Edinburgh. Could you ID the frames you've used?

  • Thanks @eskay and @owl Frames are very expensive from Ikea.. LOL these: Hovsta

    https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hovsta-frame-birch-effect-60365761/

I put £60 on the big and £25 on the small ones..

  • Absolute bargain!!

  • Your paintings look absolutely stunning and the frames make them look really professional. Spread a flyer in the streets you painted and people living there will absolutely want one on their wall.

Considering my "birch tree": I have no clue where it will go to. It just happened and I have no idea what to do with it. Maybe I paint a woodpecker on it. ;-)

  • Many thanks.. yeah I had toyed with the idea of doing them "live" for people at a Christmas market or the like.. But no time..

I have done loads of the small ones this year and have nothing to do with them all.
