Vintage Claud Butler path/road racing tandem. Not far from London too.
Vintage Campagnolo disc wheel, TA/Stronglight cranksets, headclip and the frame looks to me just like this post war machine
Anyone one here willing to save it from being used for parts only?

Cross-posting from the bargains thread but, £250 S&S coupled tandem with car rack and accessories in Swansea – unreal bargain, even if you have to travel: https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/tandem-with-couplings/1469515809

That's a wild score – the crankset alone makes it worth taking! Lemme know if you ever split it.

Cute bike, but cross posting from ebay isn't really allowed

Saw this cute tandem on eBay, someone save it from a slow death in a Catford garden.

Sorry all.

I suppose so. It's not always a good look when newbies get absolutely jumped on for genuinely missing the rules and seasoned luffgussers sort of get a pass when they should know better. As you were

I mean it's meaningless now and sort of proves my point.

Where do people store their tandems?
Also I saw someone had a child seat mounted to the saddle area in place of a saddle - what is the search term for these?
I spotted this Thron and thought it would be good for me and my 5yo. I was thinking if I could position them above the cranks and remove the pedals until they were tall enough to reach. Or replace the cranks with cheapo aliexpress ones and chop them off until they're tall enough.

Someone save this tandem
I'm doing my best!

I've got one tandem in the garage, and another two under a tarp in the back garden

is there space on that tiny stoker seattube for a kiddy crank? in this house, if you ride tandem then you pedal!

In the lounge!

25% of the cost of the bike (before adding in a crankset and chain) is a bit punchy.
They're pretty tall, so I'd sooner wait.
Looking at the design I reckon I could mount the seat off the pilot's ST... or maybe some funny reversing of the seat attachment.

PS my tandem is in the hall. I use a bungee around a pipe to keep it vertical by the wall, and turn both sets of bars 90deg to flatten it enough to not clog the hall too much. Well, that's my opinion of how much it clogs the hall. Other members of the household have different opinions.
woah nice! this was down in dorset, the couple who own it had brought it down from London for a weekend away - seemed to be enjoying it a lot!
