oh you got those forks, they were nice.
easy to find bongo carbon wheels now indeed -
• #28
They were the cheapest I could seem to find, rim brake, full carbon, correct steerer length. Sorted !
Bargain fork for 50 quid! very light tooYes, theres black friday deals on wheelsets all over the internet atm, maybe I can find something suitable

If anyone has or knows anyone selling a road carbon clincher/tubeless rim brake wheelset for cheap dm me thanks

Heres the mk1, I need to sort out the bars before I put the tape on so the cockpits nice but other than adjustments here and there it seems good so far.
waiting on a battery charger for the etap so I can change the gears.
I inspected the wheels and they're no good I need replacements as soon as I can
Will upload the final build photos in the coming weeks!

that rat has potential. nowhere near final with outer cables as long as that :))!
getting strong reynolds assault vibes for the wheels

That's one hell of a drop saddle-bars, respect.
In reference to the above, go tubs and live the dream:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264534309995Or get a pair of Prime carbon wheels from Administration Reaction?

• #33
i'd expect to spend nearly half of that on reynolds tubs !
-

Fair, these are ex-display not used at least, and unless I'm not looking hard enough the great rim brake/tub price crash has evaded me so far! Offers are on too...
-
• #35
they look great, but you can find good condition used clincher ones for less, which is supposed is the OP's vibe
-
• #36
I was looking at assaults, super nice
Yes cables need sorting, the cockpit is just rough atm -
• #37
I rode tubs on my old caad4, but I was constantly battling with punctures
I am cycling in Birmingham, nearly every road has smashed glass or other nasties haha Clinchers would be the best for me. -
• #38
Ah no problem - gotta be right for the conditions so you ride it. And by the sound of it I've had more than my fair share of luck with tubs so will stop recommending them! Think your build will look mega with shallow or deep wheels TBH

Thank you!
I liked the tubs tbh, they were fast and made a cool swoosh noise! If I lived in an area with smooth nice roads, tubs no problem.
I used to add a bit of liquid sealant inside the tub every week or two to get small holes sealed up but patching an inner tube or replacing a clincher tyre is much easier and easy on the mind -

brum roads are so crazy, never seen anything like it and i've lived in manchester!
riding home on those rainy nights with little streetlight and you'd just fall into the grand city road canyon

Mad. I'm in Aberdeen and despite it being colder than most of the UK the roads aren't bad at all barring a few huge but sporadic craters that have appeared.
Love the idea of joining that movement then coming out as a tubular tyre fetishist rather than an angry motorist and finding some common ground

Some councils have less funding than others but it's how it's planned and completed etc which matters. bham atm is littered with road works and road traffic lights but it looks like no work is being carried out or it's super slow, on top of that the night life leaves glass, litter and NOS canisters in the roads etc which are not cleaned up and become part of the road.
I ride fixed like everyday tho with thick ass tyres and it's fun dodging things but now I'm back on a roadie its gunna suck rolling into random sharp things, the roads are abit nice in places like Sutton Coldfield and near the lickey hills but brum city is the Grand Canyon for sure hahaha
Also I managed to fit 30mm tyres on the low, picked up some Zafiros for cheap but have also realised the wheelset has a 10 speed cassette with a 10 speed free hub! Fml
Dosnoventa fork says 28mm max clearance but there's a lot of room with the 30s in, rear i got a couple mm of space -

I cant change gear but I cycled around my block, I've taken the enve stem off and matched with a Thomson, I prefer it, it's -17 and fits nice
Didn't wanna use the Thomson stem because of the small faceplate bolts but I found some spares
